Professional and Heritage rangetops are the current style, and older models are still found in many custom kitchens. Each has igniters, valves, burner heads and controls that need to stay clean and dry to work well.
Houston humidity can leave moisture around igniters, and boil-overs add to the problem. Heat and spills also wear on knobs and control stems. Storms can bring power surges that harm electronic controls on induction and electric units.

Why does my burner keep clicking?
Constant clicking often means the igniter is wet, dirty or worn, or that a burner cap is out of place. Let the cooktop dry and check the cap first. If it keeps clicking, we test the igniter and the switch.
What should I do if my rangetop smells like gas?
Turn off all burners, open windows and leave. Do not use switches or flames. Call your gas utility from outside. After the home is safe, we can inspect the rangetop, but gas line work goes to a licensed plumber.
Can you repair an older Dacor rangetop?
Often yes. We check what is wrong, tell you if parts are scarce and say when a repair does not make sense for the age of the unit. You get the price in writing before work begins.
