What FA means
FA on the Dacor DOP30T940IS induction range cooktop means communication between the induction main board and the right inverter board has been interrupted. That inverter board powers the right-side burners, so they stop heating while the cooktop displays FA. It is the right-side counterpart of the F8 code. Burners on the left side may still work normally while the right side stays off.
Common causes of FA
- Cable or connector to the right inverter board loose
- Power disturbance upsetting the boards
- The right inverter board
- The induction main board
1. Power the cooktop off and on. 2. If FA appears again, disconnect power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds and restore it. 3. If it persists, leave the cooktop off and call for service. Please do not open the cooktop or handle its wiring yourself.
- Whether the right inverter board, the main board or the link between them has failed
- Whether a left-side code appears too, which would point at the main board
- Parts and price, confirmed in writing before the repair

Why only the right burners?
The right inverter board powers the right-side burners. When the main board loses its link to it, only that side goes quiet and the cooktop shows FA, while the left burners keep working.
What if both F8 and FA appear?
Then both inverter links are down, and the shared main board becomes our first suspect. We test it and its connections before replacing either inverter board, so you do not pay for a part you do not need.
Should I keep trying to restart it?
One restart and one 30-second power disconnect are reasonable, as the owner's manual lists. Repeated restarts will not help if a board is damaged, so schedule service instead.
Still seeing FA?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
