DCT365
Dacor DCT365 Drop-In Cooktop Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Igniters that click but do not light the burner
- Uneven or yellow-tipped burner flames
- Knobs that no longer seat firmly on the valve stems
- Burner caps sitting out of alignment
The Dacor DCT365 is a 36-inch Distinctive drop-in gas cooktop. It sits in a countertop cutout instead of on a range, so we reach the burners and igniters from above and the gas valves from the cabinet below. The number is also sold as the DCT365S and as the DCT365/LP, the propane version.
The DCT365 has been in kitchens for a long time, and we still service it. If the cost of a repair does not make sense for a cooktop of this age, we will say so. We start with the igniters and burner caps, then watch the flame at every burner and feel how each knob turns its valve. A cooktop that clicks without lighting can come from a dirty igniter, so we look there before anything larger.
Finding parts for a drop-in this old can take effort, which is why we check before committing to a repair. The label gives the model and serial, and with them the exact version in your counter. You see the quote on paper first, and a 30-day workmanship warranty backs the job.

Is the DCT365 a natural gas or a propane cooktop?
Both exist. The plain DCT365 and the DCT365S are the standard versions, and the DCT365/LP is the propane one. The label on the unit shows which gas it was built for, and we check that against your supply before we adjust any burner.
Why does one burner click but never light?
On a drop-in gas cooktop like this one, a click without a flame usually points to a dirty or worn igniter, or a burner cap that is not seated. We clean and test those first, then check the valve and spark path if the problem stays.
Can you still fix a Distinctive cooktop that is no longer made?
Yes. Distinctive gas cooktops are part of our regular work. Because parts for them can be hard to find, we check availability first, and we tell you honestly if replacing the cooktop makes more sense.
