Dacor RGC365 Renaissance Gas Cooktop Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Ignition problems on one or more burners
  2. Burner caps that wear
  3. Valves that need servicing
  4. A flame that does not match the LP or natural gas version

The Dacor RGC365 is a 36-inch Preference Renaissance gas cooktop, discontinued, with a 30-inch sibling in the RGC304. It was sold as the RGC365S and, for propane, as the RGC365LP.

Because the LP version is a separate number, a gas mismatch is something we can often spot quickly: a flame that is too tall or too lifted tells us the burners may not suit the gas. Ignition trouble is the other common call. We clean the burners, check the caps for wear, test the igniters and then service the valves where they feel stiff or the flame is erratic.

A Renaissance cooktop that has lasted this long is usually worth a look, and we are honest if it is not. Parts for it are not easy to find, so we check availability before we start. The label gives the exact model and serial, which we use for ordering. We agree the price in writing beforehand, and the repair is under a 30-day workmanship warranty.

RGC365RGC365 questions
What is the RGC365LP?

It is the propane version of the cooktop. Its burners are set for LP, so we check the label to make sure the version matches the gas your home uses.

Is the RGC304 the same cooktop in a smaller size?

It is the 30-inch sibling in the same family. Some parts may be shared, but not all, so we read the exact number from your label before ordering anything.

When do valves on an older cooktop need servicing?

When a knob feels stiff, a flame will not hold steady, or a burner leaks gas at the valve. We test each valve, and we explain what service or replacement involves before starting.
