The Dacor HGER30 is a Heritage 30-inch range that is no longer made. It was sold for natural gas and for LP, and an H suffix marks the high-altitude kit versions. Many are still cooking in Houston homes.
An older gas range comes down to ignition and fuel. When the oven is slow to light, a weakened igniter is the usual cause, and when a cooktop burner clicks without lighting, residue or moisture around the igniter is the first suspect. We also check that the gas setup matches the fuel in the house. A range set up for LP and connected to natural gas, or the other way around, burns poorly, and the same goes for a high-altitude kit fitted where it does not belong.

Why is my oven slow to light?
We test the igniter and the gas flow before replacing anything, and any part is quoted in writing first. A weak igniter is the usual reason for slow lighting on an older gas oven.
