Dacor DOP48M96D Modernist Pro Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Gas conversion or setup that does not match the fuel supply
- Integrated griddle that heats unevenly
- Steam function that stops early
- Small left oven that heats slowly
The Dacor DOP48M96D is a Modernist Pro 48-inch dual-fuel steam range with an integrated griddle rated at 1,400 W. There is a 4.8 cu. ft. oven on the right and a 1.8 cu. ft. oven on the left. It comes in natural gas and LP versions, the DPS being the LP one, and connects to a 50A supply at 240V or 208V.
On a range with a choice of fuels, the setup comes first. A natural gas range fed propane, or the reverse, burns poorly, with tall flames or trouble lighting, and no new igniter will fix that. After that, the griddle, the two ovens, and steam are tested in turn. An integrated griddle that heats unevenly is an electric problem, while a steam function that stops early sends us to the water path.
Wide ranges are heavy and usually built into the cabinetry, so we plan access before we begin. We read the model and serial from the data label to match parts. Your written price comes first, and our work is warranted for 30 days on workmanship.

Error codes this model can show
What does DPS mean on this range?
The DPS version is set up for LP, or liquid propane. A natural gas version cannot simply be connected to propane, so we confirm the fuel setup from the label before looking at parts.
Can the 208V option change how the range performs?
The range can connect at 240V or 208V on a 50A supply. We check that the supply is solid at the range, since a weak connection can cause heating complaints.
Who repairs the griddle?
We do. The griddle is electric and has its own heating part and control, so we test them separately from the gas burners and the ovens. Then we explain what failed and what the repair costs.
