RO230
Dacor RO230 Double Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Latch wear on the upper oven
- Sensor in the lower oven
- Keys that do not respond
- Heating elements in each cavity
Discontinued but still in kitchens, the RO230 is a 30-inch double wall oven from the Renaissance RO series. It was sold as the RO230B, RO230S and RO230FS. Each cavity self-cleans with its own latch, so the oven has two locks to wear out.
The upper latch tends to wear first because owners often clean the upper oven. The lower oven’s sensor is a common check, since the lower cavity runs hot more often. When keys do not respond, we test the keypad before the control board. We also check the heating elements in both cavities, as they age together.
Parts for early Renaissance ovens are scarce. We read your model and serial from the label and look up availability before ordering. The price is given in writing.

Why does the upper latch fail first?
In many homes the upper oven is the one that gets cleaned most, so its latch sees more self-clean cycles and wears sooner. We test both latches and replace only the worn one.
The buttons on my RO230 do not respond. Do I need a new control?
Not necessarily. A worn keypad is a smaller repair than a new control. We test the keypad first and look at the control board only if the keypad proves to be good.
Do both ovens share a control?
Yes, a single control runs both cavities. That means one shared problem can affect both ovens at once, so we test the control as well as each cavity's own parts before deciding what to replace.
