What C-72 means
Current Dacor steam wall ovens, the DOB30x977 and DOC30x977 families such as the DOB30M977D, show C-72 for a problem with the drain system. Steam ovens move water in and out as they cook, and the control has found that the draining side is not working as expected. The screen shows C-72, and steam cooking may stop until the oven has been looked at.
Common causes of C-72
- A drain part in the steam system that is not working
- Wiring or a connector in the drain circuit
- A control board that is not completing the drain step
1. Press OFF, then restart the oven. 2. Should C-72 return, switch off the oven's breaker, wait for at least half a minute, and switch it on again. 3. Wipe up any water you can see around the oven or on the floor. 4. Do not use steam cooking until the oven has been checked. 5. If the oven still shows the code, give us a call.
- The code says the drain side is affected, not which part, so we test the drain circuit step by step.
- Water left in the system can matter, so we check for it before testing electrical parts.
- Our 30-day workmanship warranty applies, and you see the price in writing first.
Other Wall Oven codes
What does C-72 mean on my steam oven?
C-72 points to a drain system problem in a Dacor steam wall oven. The control found that water is not draining the way it should, so it shows the code on the display.
Should I empty the water tank when C-72 shows?
The owner's manual does not list that, so we do not ask you to guess. Restart the oven once as listed, and if C-72 returns, we find the cause by testing the drain circuit.
Can C-72 cause a leak?
The code itself does not report a leak, but a draining problem involves water. If you notice moisture near the oven, tell us when you call so we check for it during the visit.
Still seeing C-72?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
