PCS230
Dacor Preference PCS230 Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Pure Convection fan and third element
- Upper versus lower oven heat
- Control panel response
- Door latch and hinge condition
The PCS230 is a double electric wall oven, 30 inches wide, in Dacor’s Preference line and listed as a Classic Wall Oven. The 30 comes from the model number, and the 2 shows that there are two ovens. Preference is among the older Dacor lines, and we repair these ovens.
Pure Convection on this model brings in a third element and a fan alongside bake and broil. For uneven baking we test the fan and that element before the control. With two cavities, we also compare their heat and inspect each door latch and hinge, since the lower door takes the most use.
A few Preference parts have become hard to get. The label’s full model and serial let us check stock first, and the quote is written. Repairs come with a 30-day warranty.

What is the third element on a PCS230?
In Pure Convection mode, the oven uses a third heating element along with a fan. If food cooks unevenly in that mode, we test the element and fan separately.
Can a Preference double oven be repaired in place?
Usually yes. We work from the front of the cabinet when we can and pull the oven out only if a rear connection needs attention.
Which cavity should I describe?
Say which oven, upper or lower, is the problem and which mode it fails in. That helps us bring the right parts and test the right circuit.
