MOV227
Dacor MOV227 Double Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Lower oven sensor and bake element
- Latch wear on the cavity cleaned most often
- Discovery Controller response
- Convection fan in each cavity
Dacor’s MOV227 is a double electric wall oven in the Discovery series, 27 inches wide. The 2 in the number means two ovens share one frame and one 240-volt feed. Discovery ovens are older, and many MOV units are still in daily use in kitchens that have not changed.
We ask which cavity you use most, because that is the one with the most wear. It is usually the lower oven, where the sensor and bake element live a harder life, or whichever one you run for self-cleaning, where the latch takes the strain. The Discovery Controller is the shared part, so we check it whenever both cavities show a problem.
The label gives the model and serial that we need before we order any part, and some parts are scarce, so we confirm first. You see a written price before work starts.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my lower MOV227 oven cook differently from the upper?
Each cavity has its own sensor and elements, and they age at different rates. We compare both with a probe and calibrate or replace the part that has drifted.
Which latch wears out first?
The one on the cavity you self-clean most often. We test both and replace only the worn one, then confirm the door opens after a short test cycle.
Does pure convection work in both ovens?
This model lists pure convection as a Discovery feature. We check the fan in each cavity during the visit, since a fan that does not turn can look like uneven baking.
