What C-10 means

On the current Dacor DOC30 combination oven, a speed oven paired with a wall oven, in the M, P and T 977 lines such as the DOC30M977D, DOC30P977D and DOC30T977D, C-10 means the cooking sensor circuit is open or shorted while the microwave is operating. The control cannot get a usable reading from that sensor, so it shows the code and stops the microwave cooking. You see C-10 on the display and the speed oven side does not cook.

Common causes of C-10

  • Cooking sensor wiring that has a break or a short
  • A cooking sensor that is no longer reading
  • A control board input that is not accepting the sensor signal
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Press OFF, then start the oven again. 2. If C-10 stays, switch the oven off at the breaker for at least 30 seconds, then switch it back on. 3. If the code returns after that, stop using the microwave function and call us. 4. Keep the door closed and the oven empty while it is off.

! Why to stop there
  • Open and short readings look alike on the display, so we test the sensor circuit to find which one it is.
  • The code is specific to the microwave side, so we also check that the cooking itself is not affected.
  • You receive a written price before work, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
C-10C-10 questions
What does C-10 mean on a Dacor combination oven?

The cooking sensor circuit is open or shorted while the microwave runs. The control cannot read the sensor, so it stops the microwave cooking and shows C-10 on the display.

How do I reset C-10?

Press OFF and restart the oven. If it stays, cut power at the breaker for at least 30 seconds and restore it. The owner's manual lists these steps, and we do not add others.

Does C-10 mean the whole oven is ruined?

No. It points to one sensor circuit, which is a repairable problem in most cases. We test the circuit first and tell you the price before any part is replaced.
