EO230
Dacor Discovery EO230 Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Lower oven that does not heat
- Latch that does not release after a clean
- Aging control board
- Door hinge and gasket wear on both ovens
No longer made, the EO230 is a Discovery EO series double wall oven, 30 inches wide. It was sold in several finishes, including EO230SBC, EO230SBR and EO230SCP. Its installation matches Dacor’s MOH and MOV double ovens, which helps when we are matching trim and cutout dimensions, but not every part crosses over.
With two self-cleaning cavities, wear tends to show up where the work is heaviest. Lower ovens that no longer heat, latches that stay locked after a clean and control boards that have aged out are the checks we make first. We separate them by testing, not by guessing, and we quote one problem at a time.
Discovery ovens are older models still in many Houston homes, and repairing them is routine for us. We take the model and serial from the label, look for the part and put the price on paper first. When a repair makes no sense, we tell you.

Error codes this model can show
Why is only my lower EO230 oven cold?
Each cavity has its own element and relay, so we test those on the lower side and compare with the upper. The sensor in the lower oven is another common cause.
The control seems to be dying. Can it be replaced?
We check whether a replacement board is available before you approve anything. On an older Discovery double oven, that answer decides whether repair or replacement is the better plan.
Can the latch be fixed without removing the oven?
Often yes. We reach the latch from the front when the oven's trim allows, which saves pulling the whole oven out of the wall. We confirm that during the visit.
