MOH227
Dacor MOH227 Double Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Which cavity misbehaves and in which mode
- Discovery Controller response
- Lower oven bake element and sensor
- Door lock after a clean cycle
In the Discovery series, the MOH227 is a 27-inch wall oven with two electric cavities. A 2 in the number means two cavities, stacked in one frame on a single 240-volt feed. That makes it a good fit for a smaller kitchen that still wants a second oven, and an older one to find parts for.
With two ovens behind one controller, our first question is which cavity has the problem and what it was doing: baking, broiling, using pure convection or cleaning itself. The answer tells us whether to start at the Discovery Controller or at a single cavity’s element, sensor and latch. Often the other oven keeps working while we repair the first.
Some Discovery parts are scarce, so we check the supply chain before you commit. Your oven’s data label supplies the numbers for the order, and the price comes to you in writing before we start. If a repair stops making sense for a unit this age, we tell you so.

Will the upper oven keep working if the lower one is down?
Usually yes, because the upper and lower ovens carry separate elements and sensors. The controller and the 240-volt feed are shared, though, so we test those before we call the upper oven healthy.
What does the 2 in MOH227 mean?
In Dacor's Discovery numbering, the digit after the letters shows whether the oven is single or double. A 2 means two cavities. A 1, as in MOH130, means one.
Why does only one cavity self-clean properly?
A cavity that does not finish its clean cycle often has a worn latch or a sensor reading wrong. We test that cavity's lock and sensor before looking at the shared control.
