Dacor HPCT365G Pro-Style Cooktop Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. A spark module that stops sparking some burners
  2. Burner caps that discolor or warp
  3. Valves that feel stiff
  4. Burners that light slowly or not at all

The Dacor HPCT365G is a 36-inch Pro-style gas cooktop with sealed burners, now out of production. It was sold in natural gas, LP and high-altitude versions. Pro-style cooktops of this kind were built with heavier burners than most standard ones.

With sealed burners, much of what we find comes down to the cap and base sitting correctly and the ports staying clear. We take each apart, clean it and put it back, then check the igniter. If several burners fail to spark together, the spark module is the next suspect, since it serves them all. A stiff valve is tested for its travel, and we do not force one.

Discolored caps are cosmetic, but a warped one affects the flame, so we look at the fit. Replacement parts for the HPCT365G take effort to track down, so we do that work before we propose a repair. Your label gives us the exact number to match. We quote in writing beforehand, and our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

HPCT365GHPCT365G questions
Why would several burners stop sparking together?

A shared spark module or its power feed is more likely than separate igniters. We test the module and the supply first, then the individual igniters, so we do not replace parts that are working.

Can a warped burner cap be fixed?

A warped cap usually has to be replaced, because bending it back rarely gives a reliable fit. We check the fit and tell you whether a cap is available for this older cooktop.

The cooktop came as natural gas. Can it use propane?

Only if it has been converted for it. The version is set at the burners, and the label shows what yours was built for. We check that against your gas before any adjustment.
