ECS136
Dacor ECS136 Wall Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Convection fan and third heating element in Pure Convection
- Even heat across the wide cavity
- Door hinge and gasket wear
- Control response after a power interruption
The ECS136 is the widest oven in this group of Epicure Classic Wall Ovens, a single electric model that is 36 inches across. Because of its width, the cabinet opening is out of the ordinary, so we pay attention to fit and clearance when we plan any part swap.
Like its narrower siblings, it lists Pure Convection with a third heating element and a fan. In a wide cavity, uneven color on a tray is often the first sign owners see, and it points us to the fan, the convection element or the sensor. Door gasket and hinge wear are also worth a look on an oven that has been opened thousands of times.
Some Epicure parts are hard to track down these days. We take the model and serial from the label, confirm that the part is in stock somewhere and quote the job on paper. Should the same problem return within 30 days, we come back to fix it.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my ECS136 brown unevenly?
In Pure Convection, the fan and the third element have to work together. If either is weak or the sensor reads wrong, one side of a tray browns faster. We test each part before suggesting a replacement.
Does the wide 36-inch size change the repair?
It does not change how we diagnose, but it limits which parts and trim pieces fit. We confirm the exact model and cutout before ordering anything.
Can a worn door gasket affect baking?
Yes. If the gasket is flattened or torn, heat escapes and the oven works harder to hold temperature. We inspect it as part of the visit and quote a replacement separately if needed.
