What C-30 means
For current Dacor wall ovens in the Modernist, Contemporary and Transitional lines, among them the DOB30M977S and DOC30M977D, C-30 reports the PCB sensor as open or shorted during operation. The PCB sensor watches the temperature of the control board itself, so a bad reading leaves the control unsure how hot its own electronics are, and it shows C-30. The oven may stop heating until the reading is restored.
Common causes of C-30
- A control board temperature sensor that is open or shorted
- A connection to that sensor that has loosened
- The board itself, if testing shows it cannot be restored
1. Press OFF and restart the oven. 2. If C-30 shows again, turn the oven off at the breaker for at least 30 seconds, then restore power. 3. Do not open the control or the oven housing. 4. If C-30 will not go away, call us.
- The sensor sits on the control board, so the repair may mean replacing the board itself, and we confirm that by testing.
- A neighboring code, C-31, is about high board temperature, and we check which one your oven shows.
- Before any work you see the price in writing, and a 30-day workmanship warranty backs the repair.

What does C-30 mean on my Dacor oven?
It means the sensor that monitors the control board temperature is open or shorted. The control cannot read its own board temperature, so it cannot be sure its electronics are safe and shows C-30.
Is C-30 the same as C-31?
No. C-30 is a sensor reading problem, open or short. C-31 means the board temperature itself is abnormally high. They sound alike, but the repair paths differ.
Can I keep using the oven with C-30?
We would not. The control cannot judge its own board temperature, so try the restart once and, if the code returns, leave the oven off until we have checked it.
Still seeing C-30?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
