HWO230
Dacor Heritage HWO230 Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Control messages tagged upper or lower
- Wear in the upper door hinges
- A convection fan that is louder in one cavity
- Supply voltage reaching the oven
Dacor’s Heritage series includes the HWO230, a 30-inch double wall oven with 4.8 cubic feet in each cavity. The HWO230PS is the Professional version. It runs on a 240-volt, 50-amp supply, which is a heavy feed for a kitchen wall, so the supply gets a look whenever an oven acts up.
After that, our checks follow what you describe. A control message with an upper or lower label tells us which cavity to test. A convection fan that grows loud in one cavity usually means a bearing or a loose blade. The SoftShut hinges on the upper door carry a lot of weight, and when they lose damping, the door can drop or close with a bang.
Nothing is ordered until the model and serial have been copied off the label. The price comes in writing first, and we stand behind the work for 30 days.

Why does one convection fan sound louder?
A fan that grinds, buzzes or rattles usually has a worn bearing or a loose blade. We check the fan in the noisy cavity and replace only that fan if it is the cause.
Does the 50-amp supply affect repairs?
Yes. If the oven is getting less than full voltage, it can heat weakly or shut down. We check the supply at the oven before replacing parts.
My upper door drops open. Is the hinge worn?
Most likely. SoftShut hinges hold a heavy door, and the damper wears over time. We inspect both hinges together and quote a pair, since mismatched hinges can leave the door crooked.
