Dacor ECD230 Double Oven Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Keypad that stops responding or beeps without starting
  2. Lower oven that does not heat
  3. Door latch behavior during and after self-clean
  4. Condition of the control wiring between the two ovens

Dacor’s classic Epicure ECD series produced the ECD230, a 30-inch double wall oven now out of production. These ovens were built to last, and many are well past warranty and still in daily use. We repair them, and the same model also appears with the ECD230SCH finish suffix.

This oven is driven by an ERC control, and its keypad is the part owners notice first. When the buttons stop answering or the oven beeps and refuses to start, we test the keypad and the control board before blaming the elements. Each cavity self-cleans, so a stuck door latch after a cleaning cycle is the other common reason to call.

Parts for an oven of this age can be slow to find. Before anything is ordered we check the supply against the number on the label, and you approve the written price first. If a repair does not hold within 30 days, we return and correct it.

ECD230ECD230 questions
Why won't the keypad on my ECD230 respond?

The keypad is a thin membrane that wears with years of use, and a worn one can stop answering or give the wrong key. We test the keypad and its ribbon connection, then the control board, before recommending a part.

My lower oven will not get hot. What do we check?

We test the lower bake element, the relay that feeds it and the temperature sensor. The upper cavity runs separately, so one that still works helps us narrow the cause quickly.

Is it worth repairing an ECD230 this old?

Often yes, when the cause is a keypad, element or latch. When the control board is to blame and none can be located, you hear that from us before any money changes hands.
