What LC means

On current Dacor Modernist and Contemporary dishwashers, including the DDW24M999US, DDW24M999UM, DDW24T998US and DDW24T999BB, LC stands for leakage check. The control has detected a possible leak, so it stops the cycle and shows LC. Water may be in the base of the machine, or a sensor may be reporting it. Treat the code as a water warning until the dishwasher has been inspected.

Common causes of LC

  • Water in the base pan from a door seal, hose or fitting
  • A leak sensor that is wet or reading incorrectly
  • A water inlet connection that is dripping
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Close the water supply valve to the dishwasher. 2. Switch the dishwasher breaker off. 3. Wipe up any water on the floor, and keep the dishwasher off until it has been inspected if it flooded. 4. Contact the installer if the machine was installed recently. 5. If LC continues, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • The code does not tell us where the water is coming from, so we check the door seal, hoses, fittings and base pan.
  • A wet leak sensor can show LC after the leak has dried, so we confirm whether any water is still escaping.
  • We quote the repair in writing before work begins.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
LCLC questions
What does LC mean on a Dacor dishwasher?

LC means leakage check. The control believes water has escaped where it should not be, and it stops the cycle to protect your floor and cabinets.

Do I need to shut off the water when LC shows?

Yes. Close the water supply valve and switch the dishwasher breaker off, as the owner's manual lists. That limits damage while we find the source of the leak.

Can LC appear when nothing is actually leaking?

It can, if a sensor is wet or misreading. But we do not assume that. We look for water first, and only then test the sensor, so a real leak is never overlooked.
