What OPn means
An OPn on Dacor Heritage wall ovens (HWO127, HWO130, HWO227, HWO230) and Distinctive DO130 and DO230 ovens means the meat probe was detached after you tapped PROBE. The probe symbol blinks and OPn appears on the display. In plain words, the oven was expecting a probe reading and the connection was gone. It is not a heating failure. These older ovens are still in daily use around Houston, and we repair them.
Common causes of OPn
- Probe plug pulled loose or not fully seated
- A worn probe cable or plug
- The oven's probe socket not making contact
1. Push the probe plug firmly into the oven socket. 2. Check that the probe cable is not pinched in the door. 3. Make sure the probe tip is in the food as the recipe calls for. 4. If OPn returns with the probe seated, call us or fill out the online form to schedule service.
- The owner's manual gives no step beyond reconnecting the probe, so a repeat code means we test the probe and the socket.
- Probes and sockets for older ovens can be scarce, so we confirm parts before the repair.
- We give a written price before work, with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Wall Oven codes
What does OPn mean on my Dacor Heritage oven?
The meat probe was disconnected after you tapped PROBE. The oven shows OPn and blinks the probe symbol until the probe is connected again.
Can I cook without the probe?
Yes. Cancel the probe function and cook by time and temperature as usual. OPn only concerns the probe, not the oven's heating system.
The probe is plugged in and OPn still shows. Now what?
The probe cable or the oven socket may not be making contact. We test both and give you a written price before any work.
Still unsure about OPn?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
