What F1 means
On older Dacor classic electronic range control wall ovens, such as the ECS130, MCS130S, PCD230 and MCD227 in the Epicure, Millennia and Preference lines, F1 is the System Watchdog Circuit alarm. The control's self-check found a failure in the bake and broil system. On Millennia models, it means a relay circuit failure. The oven beeps until you press CANCEL/SECURE. These older ovens are still in many Houston homes, and we repair them.
Common causes of F1
- A relay on the control that is not switching correctly
- Wiring or connections in the bake and broil circuit
- A control board that needs replacing
1. Silence the alarm with CANCEL/SECURE. 2. Leave the oven off, because it will not heat after this failure. 3. Keep the door closed and do not open any panels. 4. Call us to schedule a repair visit, and have the model number ready.
- The code points to the bake and broil system as a whole, so we test the relays and wiring before we name a part.
- Older control boards can be hard to find, so we confirm the part before you commit.
- We quote the price in writing, and we tell you plainly when a repair is not worth it.

What does F1 mean on my Dacor oven?
F1 is the System Watchdog Circuit alarm. The oven's self-check found a failure in the bake and broil system, and on Millennia models it means a relay circuit failure.
Can I clear F1 by pressing CANCEL/SECURE?
That stops the beeping, but it does not repair the oven. The owner's manual says the oven will not heat after this failure, so the cause still needs service.
Is it worth repairing an older oven with F1?
Often it is, if the relay or board can be found. We diagnose first, confirm parts, and give the written price before work. If it is not worth it, we say so plainly.
Still seeing F1?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
