ESG366SCH
Dacor ESG366SCH Six-Burner Cooktop Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Sealed burners that fail to light
- Instant re-ignition that clicks too often
- A flame that differs from one burner to another
- Continuous grates that rock
The Dacor ESG366SCH is a 36-inch Epicure gas cooktop with six sealed burners, each rated at 15,000 BTU, and continuous grates. It has instant re-ignition, which relights a burner if the flame goes out, and it fits a counter cutout of 34 3/4 inches. The ESG366SCP and ESG366SBK are the same cooktop in other finishes.
Because all six burners are rated alike, a burner that looks weaker or stronger than its neighbors stands out, which helps us. We compare the flames, clean each burner and test its igniter. Re-ignition that clicks too often can come from a cap that is not seated or a dirty igniter, so we check those first. The cutout size matters if the cooktop must ever be replaced, because a new one has to fit the opening.
The ESG366SCH is an older model, and we repair it. We tell you when a repair is not worth it, and we confirm parts first because some are scarce. We read the full number from the label, quote a written price before work, and provide a 30-day workmanship warranty.

What is instant re-ignition?
It means the cooktop sparks again on its own if a burner flame goes out. If the clicking is constant or the burner will not relight, we check the igniter, the cap seating and the burner ports.
What cutout does the ESG366SCH need?
The cutout is 34 3/4 inches wide. That is useful to know if a replacement is ever needed, because a new cooktop must fit the same opening, or the countertop has to be changed.
Are all six burners the same size?
Yes. All six sealed burners are rated at 15,000 BTU. That makes it easy to spot a burner that is weak or uneven, since we can compare it with the other five.
