Dacor DTI30P876BB Flex Zone Cooktop Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. The Flex Zone not joining its two zones for a large pan
  2. Pans not detected on the Flex Zone
  3. Touch controls that stop responding
  4. Cooling fan noise under the glass

The Dacor DTI30P876BB is a 30-inch frameless induction cooktop from the Transitional series. Its left side is a Flex Zone, which joins two 1,800 W zones so that a large or oblong pan can sit across both. The center is a Power Coil zone of 3,600 W that boosts to 4,800 W, and the cooktop needs a 240V or 208V supply on a 40A circuit.

The Flex Zone is the part we look at first when a customer says the cooktop will not recognize a pan. We check whether the pan is the right material and size, whether the zone detects it alone and whether it is only the joined mode that fails. If the whole display is unresponsive, we look at the touch panel, the connection to the main board and the cooling fan.

Induction has no flame or glowing element to look at, so we measure supply voltage and test zone by zone instead. The model and serial from the label are checked before a part is ordered. A written price precedes the work, and our 30-day workmanship warranty covers it after the zone is restored.

DTI30P876BBDTI30P876BB questions
What is the Flex Zone on this cooktop?

It is a left-hand area made of two 1,800 W zones that can work separately or together. Together they heat a larger or longer pan, such as a griddle or a roasting pan, across both zones.

Why does my pan not heat on the Flex Zone?

Induction needs a magnetic pan that sits flat and covers enough of the zone. If a pan that works elsewhere will not heat here, we test the zone and the connection to the main board.

The touch panel does not respond on my DTI30P876BB. What can cause it?

Moisture or a spill on the glass can cause it, as can a loose connection between the panel and the main board. We dry the glass first, then test the panel and its connections.
