The Dacor DECT365 is a 36-inch electric cooktop from the Discovery line. It has a smoothtop glass surface with five radiant elements, dual ring elements for larger pans, and knob controls instead of touch pads. A DECT365B is the same number in another finish.
On an electric cooktop with knobs, most calls come down to the element, its knob switch or the wiring between them. What does dual ring mean on the DECT365?
A dual ring element has an inner ring and an outer ring, so you can heat a small pan or a large one. If only one ring heats, we test the element and its knob switch to find which part has failed.
My DECT365 glass top has a crack. Is it safe to keep using?
No. Stop using the cooktop and switch off its breaker. A cracked smoothtop can let spills reach live parts. We can look at the cooktop, explain whether the glass can be replaced, and give you a written price.
Can you repair a Discovery cooktop that has knobs instead of touch controls?
Yes. Knob controls are simpler to test, because each element has its own switch. We check the switch and the connections for the element that is not heating and explain the repair cost before starting.
