The Dacor EG486 is a 48-inch Epicure slide-in gas cooktop. It was also sold as the EG486SCH in natural gas and LP versions, and a griddle accessory could be placed on it. It is no longer made.
A cooktop this wide has plenty of burners and a large surface, and we treat the accessory griddle as part of the check. If a griddle is used on it, we look at the surface under and around the griddle for heat damage, and we check that the nearby burners are still igniting properly. For the burners themselves, we clean the ports, test each igniter and feel each valve for wear.
