Dacor HDPR30 Dual-Fuel Range Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Oven that warms slowly or bakes unevenly
  2. Igniter that sparks without a flame
  3. Propane or natural gas setup that is not what the label says
  4. Loose lug on the 240V line

The Dacor HDPR30 is a 30-inch Heritage Pro dual-fuel range. A professional-style oven of 5.2 cubic feet sits below four gas burners: one at 18,000 BTU and three at 15,000 BTU. It is sold as HDPR30S/NG for natural gas and HDPR30S/LP for liquid propane, and it needs a 240V, 30A electrical supply as well as a gas connection.

Dual-fuel splits the range into two jobs, and we treat them that way. The oven side is electric, so slow heating or uneven baking points to the bake element, the sensor, or the 240V supply. The cooktop side is gas, so a burner that clicks without lighting points to residue near the igniter or to the burner cap sitting wrong. The NG and LP endings matter as well, since flames that look wrong often mean the setup and the supply do not match.

Before any part is ordered, the model and serial are read from the data label. No part is replaced until you have approved a written price, and the work is warranted for 30 days. A gas smell means stepping outside first and calling your gas utility from there.

HDPR30HDPR30 questions
Why does a dual-fuel range need a 240V circuit?

The oven is electric and draws heavily, so it needs a 240V, 30A supply. If the oven will not heat but the burners work, we test that supply and the oven parts.

What do NG and LP mean on my range?

NG stands for natural gas and LP for liquid propane. Burners must be set up for the fuel that is connected, and we confirm that setting before replacing any burner part.

Is this range a current model?

Yes, it is a current Heritage Pro model, and parts are generally easier to find than for a discontinued range. We confirm specific parts before quoting.
