Dacor DTI30M977BB Induction Cooktop Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Reduced power or shutdowns on a 208-volt supply
- Cooling fan noise or the cooktop shutting down hot
- Touch controls reacting to spills
- A zone that will not detect a pan
The Dacor DTI30M977BB is a frameless induction cooktop, 30 inches wide, in the Contemporary series, with an LCD display. The center zone delivers 3,600 W and can boost to 4,800 W. On the left sit two 1,800 W zones that boost to 2,600 W, and a 1,400 W zone is on the right. Its circuit is 40A at 240V or 208V.
Induction cooktops fail differently from gas or radiant ones. The supply matters: in a home with a 208-volt supply, a voltage drop under load can cause weak performance or shutdowns. The cooling fan under the glass also matters, because an induction unit protects itself when it overheats. We check the supply, the fan and the board connections before replacing any part.
Spills on the touch area can make the controls misbehave, so we also look for moisture around the display. Which board or fan we order depends on the number and serial printed on the label. You receive a written estimate ahead of the work, and our 30-day workmanship warranty begins when the cooktop is back in service.

Why does my induction cooktop shut off while cooking?
Induction cooktops shut down to protect themselves if the electronics get too hot, the fan is blocked, or the supply voltage drops. We check the fan, the airflow beneath the unit and the supply before replacing any part.
Does a 208-volt supply affect this cooktop?
It can. The DTI30M977BB is built for 240V or 208V, but a weak 208-volt supply can drop under load. We measure the voltage at the cooktop to see whether the problem is the supply or the cooktop itself.
Spilled water on the touch controls. What now?
Wipe the glass dry and shut the cooktop off at its breaker for several minutes. If the controls keep reacting wrongly once it has dried, we test the touch panel and its connections.
