DRS425300SR
Dacor DRS425300SR Side-By-Side Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Water and ice dispenser response
- Frost on the freezer side
- Cooling Off mode left on
- Self-closing hinge pull
The DRS425300SR is a current 42-inch built-in side-by-side refrigerator with 24 cubic feet in total, 15.5 of fresh food and 8.5 of freezer. It has Power Cool and Power Freeze for fast cooling after loading, self-closing hinges and LED lighting.
A side-by-side has a freezer door that is opened constantly, so frost on the freezer side points us to the door seal and the defrost parts. When the dispenser does not dispense, we check the water supply and filter, then the dispenser switch and valve. A display that is on while the refrigerator stays warm often means Cooling Off mode, which we check right away.
The self-closing hinges should pull each door shut, so a door that stays open a little is a hinge or alignment matter. Call us or fill out the online form to schedule service. We give a written price before any work and a 30-day workmanship warranty after it.
Key features
- Built-in side-by-side, 42 inches wide
- 24 cubic feet in total
- 8.5 cubic foot freezer beside a 15.5 cubic foot fresh food side
- Power Cool and Power Freeze settings
- Self-closing hinges and LED lighting
The dispenser does not give water or ice. What is checked?
We confirm the water supply and filter, test the valve, and see whether the dispenser switch responds. On a built-in the freezer must also be cold enough for ice.
Why is there frost on the freezer side only?
Warm air getting past a worn door seal or a defrost problem is the usual cause. We check both, and the self-closing hinges too, since a door that does not close all the way lets frost build.
What are Power Cool and Power Freeze?
They are settings that speed up cooling, for example after a large grocery load. If they seem to have no effect, we check the control and the fans.
