What oF means
On Dacor built-in column refrigerators such as the DRR24980, DRR30980, DRR30990 and DRR36980, oF on the display means the refrigerator is in Cooling Off mode, also called Shop mode. The fan and the lights still work, but the compressors do not run, so the cabinet is not being cooled. It is a setting, not a breakdown, and it is meant for showroom use. If the refrigerator was warm when you opened it, this is the first thing to check.
Common causes of oF
- Cooling Off (Shop) mode was switched on, often by accidentally holding the reset keys
- The refrigerator was left in showroom mode after installation
- The mode will not exit because the control keys are not registering
1. Press and hold Deodorizer Reset, Filter Reset and Override all at once for 5 seconds. 2. Watch the display; oF should disappear and cooling should begin. 3. Move perishable food to another refrigerator if the cabinet has been warm for a while. 4. If oF stays on after the keys are held, call us.
- If oF will not clear, one of the three keys may not be registering, or the control may not be accepting the command.
- We check the keypad and control, then confirm the compressors start and the cabinet reaches temperature.
- Call us or use the online form, and we will confirm a three-hour arrival window with a written price before any work.

Why does my Dacor refrigerator show oF and not cool?
oF means Cooling Off mode, also called Shop mode. The fan and lights work but the compressors stay off, so the cabinet warms up. Exiting the mode restores normal cooling.
How do I turn Cooling Off mode off?
Press and hold Deodorizer Reset, Filter Reset and Override at the same time for 5 seconds. The oF should leave the display and the compressors should start.
Is oF a sign something is broken?
No, it is a setting. Only if the mode will not exit, or the refrigerator stays warm after it does, do we look for a keypad or control problem, with a written price before work.
Still unsure about oF?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
