PF36BNDF
Dacor PF36BNDF Preference Refrigerator Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Finish-specific door parts
- Defrost drain freezing
- Ice maker operation
- Door seal
The PF36BNDF is a 36-inch refrigerator from Dacor’s Preference line, long discontinued, and sold in several finishes such as PF36BNDFAG, PF36BNDFBU and PF36BNDFBK. It is an older refrigerator that is still working in many homes, and we repair it.
Because the finish is part of the number, door and trim parts can be specific to the color, and some of them are hard to find today. We check that before the repair and tell you plainly if a repair is not sensible. The usual cooling checks come next: the door seal, the fans, the condenser area and the defrost drain, which can freeze and send water into the cabinet.
An ice maker that has stopped is checked from the water line and valve forward. We copy the model and serial from the label, since the finish suffix tells us which part to order. A written price comes before the work, and the repair is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Why does the finish letter in the model number matter?
Door and trim parts can be matched to the color. The suffix on your label tells us which version you have, so we order the right one.
Water pools inside my refrigerator. Could the drain be frozen?
Yes. The defrost drain can freeze and send meltwater into the cabinet. We clear it, check the defrost parts and test that the water drains properly.
Can a Preference refrigerator this old still be repaired?
Often. We confirm which parts are available, give a written price and tell you directly when the cost is not worth it for the age of the refrigerator.
