Dacor DTT36M876 Modernist Rangetop Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Knob lights that no longer glow
- Burners that keep reigniting with a clicking sound
- Grates that discolor from heat
- A flame that suggests the wrong gas setup
The Dacor DTT36M876 is a Modernist rangetop, 36 inches wide, with six burners whose outputs go from 9,000 up to 22,000 BTU. Versions ending in L burn natural gas, and versions ending in P burn LP. A 120V, 15A supply also feeds the ignition and the knob lighting.
That electrical supply is why a gas appliance can have an electrical problem. When the knob lights go out or the burners click in the wrong way, we check the 120V supply, the outlet and the connections before we look at the burners themselves. If the lights are on and the ignition clicks but one burner will not hold a flame, we move to the cap, ports and igniter.
Heat discoloration of the grates is mostly cosmetic, and we look at it only as part of the full check. Parts are ordered against the model and serial on the label. The quote is on paper before the work, and our 30-day workmanship warranty covers the repair.

Why does a gas rangetop need an electrical supply?
The DTT36M876 uses 120V, 15A for ignition and for the lighting in its knobs. If the power is off or an outlet has failed, the burners may not spark and the knob lights will not glow.
The burner keeps clicking while it is lit. Why?
Repeated reignition clicks can come from a dirty igniter, a misplaced cap or a flame that lifts off the ports. We clean and seat the parts and watch whether the flame stays steady.
How do I know if my rangetop is natural gas or LP?
Look at the model number: L is natural gas and P is LP. The label confirms it, and we compare it with your supply before adjusting anything.
