MMD30
Dacor MMD30 Discovery Drawer Repair
Most common issues on this model
- A drawer that is slow to close or does not move
- Weak heating at some power levels
- Sensor cooking that stops early
- A control panel that stops responding
The Dacor MMD30 is a 30-inch microwave drawer from the Discovery line, with 1.0 cubic feet of space and 950 watts of power. It offers 11 power levels and sensor cooking. The MMD30S and MMD30B are the same drawer in stainless and black.
With 11 power levels, a drawer that heats at some settings but not others tells us something about the control, and a drawer that does not heat at all sends us to the power parts. We also test sensor cooking separately, since a sensor program that ends early may be caused by the sensor and not the heating. The drawer’s drive is checked whenever it moves slowly or not at all.
A Discovery microwave drawer is an older model, and we repair it. Because parts are limited, we check what is available and tell you if it is not worth fixing. The finish letter on the label matters for trim. Our price is written first, and the 30-day workmanship warranty covers the work.

How much power does the MMD30 have?
It has 950 watts and 11 power levels in a 1.0 cubic foot cavity. If it heats at one level and not another, we test the control and the power parts.
What do the S and B stand for?
The MMD30S is stainless and the MMD30B is black. Trim and panel parts can depend on the finish, so we read the number from the label before ordering.
My drawer closes very slowly. Is that normal?
No. A slow drawer usually means a worn drive or a drag in the track. We check both and tell you what repair is needed.
