MMD24S
Dacor MMD24S Drawer Microwave Repair
Most common issues on this model
- A drawer that will not open
- Heating that has gone completely
- A control panel that wears out
- A drawer that sticks or closes crookedly
The Dacor MMD24S is an early 24-inch Microwave-In-A-Drawer, sold in black as the MMD24B and in stainless as the MMD24S. It is discontinued. It was among the first drawer microwaves Dacor offered, and many of them are still in use under counters and in islands.
This drawer moves on a motorized mechanism, and wear in that mechanism is a common reason for a call. When the drawer will not open, we check the drive, the track and the control. Panel wear is another sign of age: buttons lose their response after years of presses. If the microwave does not heat, we test the power parts and the door switches, and we look at what the drawer closing does to those switches.
We repair the MMD24S when it is worth it. Parts for it are scarce, and we tell you plainly what can be found before you decide. The label gives the exact number and finish. We put our estimate in writing before work, and our repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.

What is the difference between the MMD24B and MMD24S?
They are finish versions of the same drawer microwave: B for black and S for stainless. Trim parts depend on the finish, so we read the number from the label.
My microwave drawer sticks when closing. What can I do?
Check that nothing is caught in the track, such as a dish towel or crumbs. If it still sticks, call us. The drive or the track may be worn and needs testing.
Can an early drawer microwave still be repaired?
Often yes, if the problem is a switch, the drive or the control. Some parts are hard to find, so we check first and tell you honestly if a repair makes sense.
