ERV3615
Dacor ERV3615 Epicure Downdraft Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Remote blower that does not start when the vent is switched on
- Vent that raises but moves little air
- Switch or wiring between the vent and the blower
- Grease buildup at the 15-inch intake
The Dacor ERV3615 is a 36-inch raised downdraft vent from the Epicure line, with a 15-inch high intake. Dacor sold the remote blower separately, so what hangs beside your cooktop is only half of the system.
That split is the main thing we keep in mind. When the vent raises but little air moves, the cause may be at the blower, in the wiring or switch between the two, or in grease built up along the tall intake. We trace the system from the switch to the blower instead of assuming the vent is the culprit. Because the blower lives apart from the vent, we also ask where it was installed so the visit goes quickly.
The ERV3615 is an older model, and parts for the Epicure downdrafts can be scarce. Before any repair, we check which parts can be had, and we say so honestly if replacing the unit is the better choice. The data label supplies the exact model and serial. We put the price in writing before starting, and a 30-day warranty covers the workmanship.
Key features
- Epicure line raised downdraft vent
- 36-inch width
- 15 in high intake
- Remote blower sold separately
Does the ERV3615 have its own blower?
The remote blower was sold separately, so your system may use a blower mounted away from the vent. When the vent rises but airflow is poor, we test the blower and its wiring as well as the vent.
What does the 15-inch intake mean for cleaning?
It is a tall opening that collects grease along its length. Cleaning it and the filter helps airflow, and if airflow stays weak afterward we look at the blower and the connections to it.
Can you repair an Epicure downdraft this old?
In many cases yes. We find out which parts exist, quote the repair in writing, and tell you if the cost is not justified for a vent of this age.
