Dacor’s EHDR3609 is a 36-inch wall hood in the Epicure line, built to work with a remote blower. The EHDR3609SCH is the same number with a suffix. Since the motor is separate from the canopy, the canopy itself is mostly switches, lights and filters.
For service, the question is how the hood and its blower are connected. We test the power to the blower and the signal from the hood’s switch, then check the duct connections for leaks or loose clamps. Weak draw may come from the duct, the filters or the blower, and we check them in that order. We confirm the hood’s switches and lights last.

Why is the draw weak even though the blower runs?

Does the EHDR3609 have its own motor in the hood?
It is set up for a remote blower, which means the motor is placed away from the canopy. That is why we look for it along the duct instead of inside the hood.
What if my remote blower is not the original?
That is common on older hoods, where a blower may have been swapped over the years. We test it as installed and tell you whether it suits the hood and the duct.
