The EHDR3018 is a 30-inch wall hood from Dacor’s Epicure line, set up for a remote or in-line blower. The EHDR3018SCH is the same number with a suffix. With a remote blower, the motor is not in the canopy, so the hood you see and the motor that moves the air can be in different places.
That changes where we begin. If the blower does not start, we find it first, then check the wiring that runs from the hood’s controls to it. Noise that seems to come from the hood may be traveling along the duct from the blower, so we trace it. The hood’s own controls and lights are the last stops, and they are simple checks.

Where is the blower on a remote-blower hood?
It is installed away from the hood, somewhere along the duct. We ask you what you know about where it was put, and if you are not sure, we find it during the visit.
The hood lights work but nothing moves air. Why?
The hood's lights and the remote blower are on different circuits, so one can work while the other does not. We test the control signal and the blower's own power supply.
Why does the noise seem to come from the duct?
With a remote blower, the sound travels through the duct and seems to come from the hood. We trace it back to the blower itself, a loose clamp or a rattling duct section.
