Dacor’s EHD3618 is a 36-inch wall hood in the Epicure line, with a 600 CFM internal blower and halogen lighting. The EHD3618SCH is the same number with a suffix. Compared with its EHD3609 sibling, this one lists halogen lights, which sets some of our checks.
Halogen lamps run hot in a canopy, so sockets and wires age sooner. When a light is out, a new bulb sometimes fails to solve it, and we look at the socket and wiring. With a 600 CFM internal blower, we also listen for bearing noise or a wheel out of balance. Then we inspect the filters and controls, which complete the list.

The halogen light in my hood is out, and a new bulb did not help. Why?
The socket may be burned, or the wiring may be damaged by years of halogen heat. We test them, replace the socket if needed and make sure the replacement bulb is the right type.
Why does my 600 CFM blower hum at low speed?
A worn bearing or a loose mount can hum at low speed. We check both, and we also check that the wheel is clean and balanced, then replace whichever part turns out to be worn.
Can you clean the filters during a visit?
We can show you how to clean them and check their condition while we are there. If a filter is bent or full of baked-on grease, we tell you which one to replace.
