Dacor OB52 52-Inch Gas Grill Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. A main burner that will not light or burns unevenly
  2. A side burner that will not hold a low simmer
  3. A rotisserie motor that will not turn
  4. A temperature gauge that no longer tracks the grill

The Dacor OB52 is a built-in gas grill 52 inches wide, which makes it the big one in the OB family. Three U-shaped main burners give it 20,000 BTU apiece. Two side burners add 18,000 BTU between them, and a 13,000 BTU infrared rotisserie burner brings the total to 109,000 BTU. The suffix tells you the fuel: /LP for propane, /NG for natural gas.

When a main burner fails to light or burns unevenly, we check its igniter and clear the burner tube. When a side burner cannot hold a low simmer, we test its valve at low flow. If the rotisserie motor will not turn, we check the motor, its switch and the wiring. If the gauge no longer tracks the grill, we test it against a thermometer.

Dacor does not make outdoor grills any longer, so the OB52 is an older grill that stays in use through repair. Parts have to be located first, and we do that before a repair is agreed. The rating plate holds the exact fuel and number. Our price is written down for you first, and the repair comes with a 30-day workmanship warranty.

OB52OB52 questions
How hot can the OB52 get?

The burners add up to 109,000 BTU in total, including the side burners and the infrared rotisserie burner. That is a lot of heat, so a weak or uneven burner stands out clearly.

Why will my side burner not simmer?

The valve may not be passing a steady low flow, or the ports may be clogged. We clean the burner and test the valve at its lowest setting.

How can I tell if my gauge is wrong?

Place a thermometer inside the grill and compare. If it reads very differently, the gauge or its connection may be failing. We test it and tell you whether a replacement is available.
