ERV36
Dacor ERV36 Slim Raised Vent Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Vent that does not rise when switched on
- Blower that sounds weak or labors
- Switch that fails to respond
- Filter caked with grease
The Dacor ERV36 is a 36-inch slim raised downdraft vent from the Epicure line, also sold as the ERV36-ER variant. It was meant to pair with Dacor cooktops and ranges. The ERV36 is discontinued, yet it remains in a lot of older Houston kitchens.
The word slim matters for service. The vent rises only a short way, and the mechanism that lifts it and the blower underneath are packed into a small space. When the vent will not rise, we start with the switch and the lifting mechanism, then check whether grease or spilled food is binding it. If the blower sounds weak, we look at the filter first and the blower motor second.
Because the ERV36 belongs to a family of widths, the label has to be read before we order, or we risk matching a vent of the wrong size. Older parts can take time or be scarce, and we say so ahead of the repair. You will see a price on paper before we start, and 30 days of workmanship warranty follow the repair.
Key features
- 36-inch slim raised downdraft vent
- Epicure line
- Paired with Dacor cooktops and ranges
- ERV36-ER variant
What is the ERV36-ER?
It is a variant of the Dacor ERV36 raised downdraft vent. The differences can matter when ordering parts, which is why we confirm the full number from the label rather than going by the short model name.
Why does my slim downdraft vent sound weak?
A grease-loaded filter is the most common reason, followed by a blower that is wearing out. We check the filter first because that is a quick, low-cost fix, and then test the blower.
Do you service the ERV36 along with its cooktop?
Yes. When the vent and the cooktop both need attention, one visit can handle both, and each part of the job is quoted separately in writing so you can approve what you want done.
