The EHDR3618 is a 36-inch wall hood from Dacor’s Epicure line that works with a remote or in-line blower. The EHDR3618SCH is the same number with a suffix. An in-line blower sits in the duct between the hood and the outside, and it can be hard to see.
An in-line blower changes how we think about noise and weak draw. We first find the blower and confirm that it runs when the hood is switched on. Then we test the control, the switches and the wiring between them. Long duct runs can lose air at every clamp and bend, so we examine those, along with the filters and the hood’s lights.

What is an in-line blower?
It is a blower mounted in the duct, not in the hood. It moves air through the duct, so we find it and test it directly.
Why is my hood loud when the blower is far away?
Noise travels along the duct and can seem to come from the hood. A loose clamp, a rattling duct section or the blower itself may be the cause, so we trace it step by step.
Will you need to open the ceiling to reach the blower?
