EH54
Dacor EH54 Range Hood Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Weight and mounting of a very wide canopy
- Airflow across the width
- Halogen lights
- Blower motor
The EH54 is a 54-inch wall-mount range hood from Dacor’s Epicure line, with the EH5418 as a version. It uses 75-watt halogen lights and metal grease filters. It is the widest hood of the Epicure wall group, so it is built for a very large cooking surface.
A canopy that wide is heavy, so the wall mounting deserves a look before we do anything else. Then we study how air moves along it, since the far ends can pull less when filters load unevenly or the blower is tired. The lights are a larger set to look after, and we check each socket for heat damage. The blower motor is our last stop.
Some parts for the 54-inch size can be hard to find. We read the model from the label first and tell you what exists before work begins, with a price in writing.

Is a 54-inch canopy hard to service?
It is heavier than smaller hoods, so we plan the visit for two people when we need to remove it. Most work is done from below.
Why is the draw uneven on my hood?
Filters loaded unevenly, a slowing blower or a leaky duct can cause it. We check each in turn, starting with the filters, since they are the simplest to inspect and clean.
What is the EH5418?
It is a version of the EH54. We read the complete number from your label so that the lights, filters and any other part we order match your canopy exactly.
