EH36
Dacor EH36 Range Hood Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Grease filter condition
- Halogen light wiring
- Blower speed and noise
- Switches
Dacor’s EH36 is a 36-inch wall-mount range hood from the Epicure line, and EH3612 and EH3618 are versions of it. It is older, with 75-watt halogen lights and metal grease filters. A 36-inch hood sits above the classic 36-inch range that many Epicure kitchens were built around.
On this hood we start with the filters, because everything that cooks leaves a film, and a film loads the filter until the draw drops. Once those are clean, we check the blower and its speeds, listening for a bearing. The halogen lights and their wiring come next, and then the switches, which wear after years of use.
For older Epicure hoods, a few parts are hard to find. We use the label for the exact model and tell you what we find before ordering, and the price comes in writing first.

Why is the draw weaker on my EH36 than it used to be?
Greasy filters are the usual reason, because the film they collect blocks air. We clean or replace them first, then check the blower at each speed and the duct for kinks or leaks.
The blower is stuck on one speed. Why?
The speed switch or the wiring behind it may have worn out after years of use. We test both with the power off and replace only the part that has failed, which keeps the cost down.
Do you replace halogen bulbs?
Yes, and we check the socket and wiring too, because heat can damage them. This hood uses 75-watt halogen lights, so we make sure the replacement bulb matches that rating before we install it.
