A Dacor freezer column is often paired with a refrigerator column, and the two may share one finished panel across the wall. Some units combine both compartments in one cabinet. Whichever you own, a freezer works hard to hold a low temperature, and any problem with airflow, defrost or the door seal shows up quickly in the food.

Why is there heavy frost in my freezer?
Frost usually means moist air is getting in or the defrost system is not clearing the coil. A worn door seal can cause it, and so can a door that does not close fully. We check the seal first and the defrost parts next.
My freezer is cold but the ice maker stopped. Is that serious?
Not necessarily. The ice maker has its own water supply, switch and heater. A frozen fill line or a shut valve can stop it while the freezer stays cold. We test the supply and the ice maker separately.
Should I move my food right away?
If the freezer feels warm and food is softening, move it to another freezer or a cooler with ice. Do not refreeze food that has fully thawed. After that, tell us what you saw when you book.
